Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
This replaces the generated boilerplate on the old site, which described practices HIP Trivia does not have (social login, affiliates, joint-venture partners, sharing with business partners for promotions) and contained an unresolved email placeholder.
Before this goes live, confirm: (1) the contact email to publish, (2) whether Google Analytics 4 is running alongside Google Ads conversion tracking, and (3) which email service delivers form submissions. This is a plain-language draft for review, not legal advice.
HIP Trivia is operated by Dan Deibert Entertainment of Waukesha, WI. This policy explains what we collect when you use hiptrivia.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain English.
What we collect
When you request a quote. Our quote form asks for your name, company or organization, email address, phone number, and details about your event: the date, the city and state, the venue, whether the venue has sound and projection equipment, the type of event, the approximate number of players, your budget range, and a description of the event. We collect this so we can prepare and send you a quote.
When you use the contact form. Your name, email address, phone number, and your message.
When you submit a testimonial. Your name, email address, company name and website, your review text and rating, and any logo or photo you choose to upload.
Automatically. Like most websites, our host records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. Our site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes these request logs on our behalf.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use Google Tag Manager to load measurement tools, and we use Google Ads conversion tracking to understand which advertisements lead to quote requests. These set cookies in your browser. TODO: confirm whether Google Analytics 4 is also active and name it here.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though we will not be able to tell that your visit came from an advertisement.
Our video player is embedded from Vimeo with the do-not-track parameter enabled, which asks Vimeo not to track viewing for advertising purposes.
How we use your information
- To prepare and send you a quote or proposal.
- To answer your questions and communicate about a possible or booked event.
- To publish testimonials you have submitted for that purpose.
- To understand how the site is used and which advertising is working.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that make the site and our business run: our website host, our email provider, and our analytics and advertising tools. They may only use it to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and correspondence for as long as needed to serve you and to keep ordinary business records. You may ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond.
Children
This site is aimed at people booking entertainment for events. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
